Volkswagen Financial Services Head Office

Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) expanded rapidly to support the success of the VW group, and the new 100,950ft² headquarters building provides for expansion in staff numbers, and brings two existing offices together.

The location needed to be close to VW group’s UK headquarters so, after exploring the feasibility of other options, VWFS opted for the redevelopment of this site owned by UK & European Developments.

An existing warehouse was demolished and replaced by a four storey building with largely open plan 18m wide office floorplates. The offices wrap around a large external courtyard, providing sheltered amenity space for outdoor events, served from the large staff restaurant and café.

The design features a dramatic external framing, which uses forms derived from the VW group logo, and from automotive design. The building is BREEAM Excellent.
