East Midlands Gateway

The first four units of the SEGRO Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway (SLPEMG) have been completed.

The development incorporates a 50 acre Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) which will include a rail freight terminal, capable of handling up to sixteen 775m freight trains per day, container storage and HGV parking.

The site was sloping agricultural land and the masterplan integrated the new SRFI and development plateaus with retained woodland, extensive bunding to hide the development from neighbouring villages, and major alteration works to M1 junction 24.
