Anchor Meadow Health Centre

A new medical centre bringing together two existing G.P. Practices in the Midlands. The Doctors from each Practice combined to assemble finance and attract tenants, creating an integrated primary care facility.

The building accommodates the two doctor’s surgeries, outreach facilities for local hospitals (including physiotherapy and chiropody), child development unit, dentist, bereavement services and a pharmacy.

Each surgery occupies a separate wing, linked by double height entrance and waiting areas. The two wings overlap, reducing the external envelope and the apparent size of the centre. Angled walls and windows set at various levels provide a human scale where even the smallest child can see out. The interior is characterised by strong colours and bright, naturally light spaces.
