NIAB EMR Research Facility and Winery

pHp architects were appointed by NIAB to undertake the architectural design for new Facilities buildings at their research site in East Malling, Kent, alongside additional sitewide improvements.

Facilities Building 1 will become a flagship building located on the East Malling site featuring large Client collaboration area with meeting rooms. These front-of-house spaces will take advantage of the expansive views across the vineyards and Kent countryside maximising daylighting and providing a visual link with the picturesque site setting.

Facilities Building 1 features state-of-the-art research spaces including laboratories, grow rooms, cold stores and winery facility.

AFurther developments to the site include the creation of 2000m2 Glasshouse and 2000m2 polytunnel to support NIAB research activities.
