Rushden Medical Centre

The building contains a GP practice, dentist’s practice and a pharmacy on a prominent corner site.

After evaluation of different sites, we chose a suburban edge and created a square block to establish a strong presence and for economy. Perimeter accommodation encloses a central waiting area, which extends up to a daylight atrium, with slot windows, giving light to and views from the staff areas at first floor.

Externally, the perimeter accommodation strips extend out at each corner, and are covered by a large square simple monopitch roof, rotated to the floor plan, providing a dramatic form on a tight budget.
